Join us for a five-day Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) Counseling training that will prepare you to attain your HECM Counseling Certification. This intensive training will provide you with an in-depth understanding of HECM and equip you with the skills and knowledge to effectively advise borrowers facing a default on HECM. During the first three days of the training, we will focus on clear explanations and practical examples to help you master the topics necessary to pass the HECM Certification exam. During the final final two days, we will cover HUD’s standards for HECM counseling, including regulatory guidelines, counselor obligations, and required disclosures. We will also discuss common causes of HECM defaults and strategies for resolving defaults.

Our Housing Action Training Center brings a robust lineup of national trainings to equip housing counselors with the skills and knowledge to help individuals and families find and keep good homes.
